Meet Elisabeth
I’m the cat-loving, brunette book nerd behind That Bookish Brunette Literary Services. I look forward to connecting with you and learning about your current project.
TBB Literary Services was born out of my love of books and passion for details and editing. With an uncanny ability to spot errors and a deep love of reading, I can help authors perfect their manuscripts. I am a freelance editor that specializes in romance and its subgenres but am open to working on any genre of fiction.
I know what it’s like to put your blood, sweat, and tears into a piece of writing and I will not take editing your manuscript lightly. I am not here to change your voice but to make sure it shines. Your story will matter to me and I will do everything I can to help you and your book succeed. I want you to feel confident when you finally hit publish and release your book out into the world.

A house without books is like a room without windows.
Horace Mann

Books have always been a huge part of my life and once I discovered romance novels, I never looked back. Since I read my first romance novel, I have read close to, if not more than, a thousand of them. My love of romance novels first led me to start book blogging and from there I joined #bookstagram, where not only was I able to connect with fellow lovers of romance but with authors of romance themselves.
I have always wanted a career that would let me combine my love of romance novels with my editing and writing skills. And it was in fact a romance novel itself that gave me the inspiration and courage to start That Bookish Brunette Literary Services. In starting this business, I have created my dream job and I am so excited that my dream means that I get to be part of helping others achieve their dreams.

My Editorial Process
Sample Edit + Quote
Before sending a quote for any editing project, I work with potential clients and evaluate 1,500 words of a manuscript to make sure we are a good fit.
The sample edit is a free-of-charge service to demonstrate my editing style and skills and to give me an idea of your writing style.
Discuss Project
I’ll reach out to you to learn more about your project—your goals, vision and budget. At the same time, I’ll complete the sample edit.
After I complete the sample edit, I will provide you with a quote and timeline. We’ll chat by email or phone and review the sample edit
Book Edit
If a client agrees with my editing style and wishes to move forward with the proposal, we choose a start date and I deliver a contract for the work. An invoice for the deposit will also be sent. Once both parties have signed the contact, the deposit has been paid, and manuscript files are delivered, I will begin the agreed upon editorial work.
